"Endless position changes, counter pressure on my back, and a heating pad wrapped around my abdomen, I was hitting a wall. I asked for another cervical check by 8am, and no progression had been made. I was (still) 8cm with my baby not descending. My coping skills were out the window, and I couldn’t have felt more defeated. I was asking to go into the hospital. I didn’t want to do another contraction...."

"I had expected my body to tell me when to push, but despite multiple different positions, my efforts to push were simply not effective. Turns out, though I was “fully dilated,” my baby’s head still needed to rotate into the proper position in my pelvis to be able to make his arrival. My baby just needed time. I could feel him shifting into position as I worked with the winds as they came and went. After three hours passed, and I still felt little urge in my body to push with the winds, I decided to make a change…"
